Apple iPhone 4G to get a touch-sensitive case?

The 'iPhone 4G' rumour mill continues to rumble on with the latest suggesting that the next iteration of the Apple smartphone will feature touch-sensitive casing.

Magic-Mouse like multi-touch technology will apparently cover the Apple device's body creating a new, innovative way to navigate through the hardware.

Speculation arrives courtesy of Bloomberg, who quotes Goldman Sachs analyst Robert Chen as confirming the case upgrade for the next iPhone.

He also believes that the '4G' will have a 5MP camera to help keep it from falling too far behind the likes of the Milestone and Nexus One in the cameraphone race.

"Apple's going to put a lot of innovation, not just on the hardware, but also on the software of the new iPhone," said Chen rather cryptically.

Earlier this week we reported that an OLED screen and video chat was rumoured to be prepped for the iPhone 4G, and with this latest feature-related speculation it seems the successor to the 3GS is going to be one jam-packed smartphone.

We think this could be a leap too far even for Apple, but then again we have been surprised before.
