Another day and another company lines-up to take a pop at Apple, this time round it’s Kodak. The camera maker is claiming that tech used in both Apple’s iPhone and Research in Motion’s (RIM) BlackBerrys is a patent infringement.

What’s got Kodak’s camera film in a twist is the way that the pair of smartphones preview pictures, allegedly it has the patent for it. It’s also filed two separate suits against Apple claiming infringements of patents relating to digital cameras and certain computer processes.
Apparently this has been an ongoing dispute between the three parties with Kodak’s chief intellectual propert officer commenting; "We’ve had discussions for years with both companies in an attempt to resolve this issue amicably, and we have not been able to reach a satisfactory agreement. In light of that, we are taking this action to ensure that we protect the interests of our shareholders and the existing licensees of our technology."
Kodak has called on the US International Trade Comission (ITC) to ban both companies from shipping anymore handsets until the issue is resolved .
It’s been radio silence from the smartphone companies with both declining to comment on the matter.
