Microsoft to launch Office 2010 public beta

Microsoft Corp, the software giant has announced that it will soon launch the public beta of Office 2010 as the company has sent e-mail messages to the people who are testing the company’s next application suite.

Last month, Mr. Steve Ballmer has assured that Microsoft will roll out a beta in November and will allocate millions of copies of the Office 2010 public beta to developers. In July, Microsoft had introduced an invitation-only Technical Preview of Office 2010, which use Microsoft’s Click-to-Run technology to deliver that build to testers. With the technology, user can start using the suite, while the rest of the code is downloaded in the background.

However, the company has not cleared that the Click-to-Run technology would be available in public beta or not. However, the software giant has announced that it will deliver the technology in the beta version, which will be shipped with the final version next year.

The company also said that the testers have to uninstall the Technical Preview before they download the public beta.
