Google is in the habit of rolling in changes and updates to the search engine. Each week, the search giant releases a diverse set of search feature and enhancements, to help make search easier, better, and faster. In a weekly announcement at the official blog, Director Search Product Management, Joanna Wright announced small changes which include Sports results posted directly on the search, emergency search features and Instant Previews. The company seems to be expanding as it wishes to reach out all. Marking its success in U.S, Google launched the emergency search feature in 13 countries.
Let us start with the Sports Feature. Google announced the brand new update as sports results are rolled in Live. For a start, the company has brought forward NHL Live Result, specially integrated in the search engine for the sports fans, keeping them updated on scores, stats and recaps. Google partnered with NHL.com to provide up-to-date information in the snippets of the NHL.com results. Results displayed would also include real-time scores, schedules and team standings. Links for quick access to game previews, live streams, recaps and video highlights of completed games make it super-easy to keep you updated on the latest NHL action.
The second feature which Google has started offering on the search page is done for a cause. The search engine wants to get committed on humanitarian grounds providing correct and specifically that information which leads to finding the crucial information. Emergency Search Feature which was earlier only available in the U.S., will now be offered in a number of other countries as the company expands the operations in 13 other countries. The feature is now made available in Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K.
Lastly, Google introduced a big one called the Instant Previews. The company was on the run to take the speed of Google Instant to new heights and with the launch of Instant Previews in almost all languages and domains, Google seems to have achieved a lot. The new feature helps you select the right results by showing a preview of each page and highlighting the relevant sections in the query. The feature can be activated with a single click on the magnifying glass next to the result title.
