Mozilla Firefox session restore is often un-predictive, sometime you will get session restore page and sometime Firefox automatically started loading all tags without asking. If number opened tabs was less before Firefox crashed then it won’t be issue if Firefox reloads tabs.
But in most cases users have many tabs and multiple instance of Firefox running, for those users here is excellent Firefox Addon, BarTab which provide effective control over session restore. It prevents all the tabs to load in the background and only loads the tab you were on. It shows other tabs too but they are inactive and start loading only when you click on them individually.
Getting started with BarTab is easy, just download and install. You can change preferences under add-on settings in Tools> Addons menu.
