Tip 796: Outlook 2007 October Hotfix

I finally got around to reviewing the details of the October 26 hotfix and it should make some Outlook 2007 users happy. Specifically, those who are annoyed by the previous update that broke monthly calendar printing – this hotfix restores end times.  (A cumulative update was released for Office 2010 today too, with some hotfixes for Outlook 2010.)

Among the long list of other problems addressed by the hotfix are:
Sending mail to an address in a SharePoint contact list synced to Outlook is uses “Send using Outlook Rich Text Format” for the Internet format, not  “Let Outlook decide the best sending format”.

After you open an email attachment 99 times, the temp folder is “full” and the attachment won’t open. (I need to test this feature – it may empty the securetemp folder as Outlook 2010 does, eliminating the ability to recover attachments. )

Printing a message with tracking prints the tracking on a separate page.
