Norton Internet Security 2010 leverages a new model of security where it uses cloud-based intelligence to identify malware in an entirely new way beyond traditional signatures and behavior-based detection. NIS 2010 may not be entirely cloud based security suite but Norton is not behind in the race of cloud based antivirus & security suite.
NIS 2010 has enhanced performances and optimized user interface. Norton Internet Security 2010 includes following technologies,
1. Norton Download Insight analyzes downloads, files and applications
2. Norton System Insight provides features and easy-to-understand system information
3. Norton File Insight tells you where files came from and if they’re trusted before you use them.
4. Norton Insight Network real-time proactive protections from the newest threats.
5. Norton Threat Insight provides details on threats that have been detected on your PC

Installation process is straight forward and requires valid license key to start. We must say that installation is pretty fast compared to other antivirus and security suites. NIS 2010 took roughly 1.30 min to complete entire installation process.
However post installation process took significant time and activation process of NIS 2010 was really slow which also includes creation of Norton Account to receive periodic updates and email alerts as well as this account will be used for email support.

Norton Internet Security 2010 Review
Memory footprint of NIS 2010 is impressive (very low) & user interface is simple with all features accessible from home screen. Status of Norton LiveUpdate is displayed in main window, you can also run on demand Liveupdate to ensure you have latest updates. A feature to change main window background theme is also available.

Norton Performance Window provides you all the insight details of Norton Internet Security 2010 Running Tasks, CPU usage, Memory consumption, Downloads, Installation, Deletion & Quick Scan.
NIS 2010 Main Window also displays number of days of subscription remaining. A big “Express Renewal” button makes it easy to instantly renew your expired subscription.
Our Verdict
Over all we are impressed with Norton Internet Security 2010 but normal users may find lost in various features, settings & different windows.
Memory footprint is low only in case of idle situation but every time when we attempted to change settings or explore various feature we felt CPU usages was hitting to 100%.
$59.99 for one year protections for 3 pcs could be good deal for those who have multiple computers at home but for single users it’s costlier affair.
