New faster Blackberry browser launched

Designed to match the performance of its Google, Apple and Palm Web OS, the new browser is based on WebKit open source browser engine and was announced by co-CEO Mike Lazaridis.

Users can expect a better web browsing experience with faster download speeds and better representation of web pages.

According to RIM, the browser marked up 100 per cent in the web-rendering Acid 3 test and has the capability to handle CSS, HTML5 and AJAX well. And it zooms, scrolls and pans through web pages just like its rivals.

Additionally, the browser is meant to be more network efficient than other browsers present in the market.

RIM says it will give users better web browsing experience with faster download speeds and better representation of web pages.
