Motorola Milestone 2.01 update hits Europe

French Motorola Milestone users have been the happy recipients of the anticipated Android 2.0.1 software update.

Beginning on Jan 21, French Moto Milestone users are the first in Europe to get the latest version of the Google Android OS. UK users will have to wait for an unspecified time to get their hands on the update, according to Motorola.  There is “no complete schedule included at this time for other regions”, according to company sources.

The first firmware update for Moto's flagship Android 2.0 fixes a veriety of bugs, including camera auto-focus, audio effects for the media player and a 3d landscape view enhancement for the photo gallery.

-- The Android 2.0.1 software update for Motorola MILESTONE provides improvements to its unlock/answer call gesturing, camera autofocus and corporate exchange email.

-- Enhanced viewing - 3D landscape view enhancement for the photo gallery and pre loaded music player

-- Smoother touch gesturing for unlocking/answering calls - Simplified touch and slide gesturing for unlocking the phone and answering calls.

-- Camera enhancements - Improved camera auto-focus functionality and reduced time between shots.

-- Exchange email set-up notification - Phone will display a message that will tell you to seek further assistance from your IT department if your company enforces EAS IT security policies. If that’s the case for your company, you won’t be unable to complete email set-up.

-- Updated Exchange email send function in outbox - 2.0.1 release helps ensure all email is properly sent from the outbox.
Added Audio Effects - Audio Effects allows users to control sound quality through the stereo headset and phone speaker.

-- Three-Way call connectivity - Improves experiences with three-way call coordination and managing calls between parties.
Enhanced in-call audio quality - Improves call clarity by eliminating limited-occurrences of echoes, especially after a Bluetooth link has ended.
