iTunes $10,000 gift card prize for 10 billionth song download

Apple is set to reward one lucky person who downloads the ten billionth song from the iTunes Store with a rather tasty $10,000 iTunes gift card.

The promotion which marks yet another astounding landmark for Apple's online music store, is also open to residents of the UK,  Ireland and countries across Europe. All iTunes customers who download a song from now, will be automatically entered for the chance to nab the $10,000 iTunes prize.

You can alternatively fill in an online entry form, but whichever way you choose to enter, thoughts of a mass iTunes buying spree to increase your chances of winning can be forgotten.

"Regardless of which method of entry is used to enter the Promotion, only twenty-five (25) entries per person and/or iTunes account and/or email address, per day will be granted," Apple says.

To further mark the occasion, Apple has unveiled a list of the 25 most downloaded tracks from the iTunes Store. RnB popsters Black Eyed Peas and their track 'I Gotta Feeling' was the most downloaded song, beating Lady Gaga's 'Poker Face' to the top spot.

Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin' with the help of a popular American series no doubt, was the oldest track featured on the list having first being released in 1981.

You can head to the iTunes Store now to make that potentially lucrative download.
