HTC Bravo leaked pictures show optical trackpad

Leaked last year and tipped for a Mobile World Conference unveiling, the HTC Bravo has broken cover early thanks to a sneaky, albeit slightly blurry, spy shot.

Expected to match the spec of the recently released Google Nexus One handset, HTC’s Bravo, successor to the award-winning HTC Hero, has one glaringly obvious trump card on Google’s offering, an optical trackpad instead of a trackball.

As well as offering improved navigation through the user interface, it is expected that the forthcoming HTC handset will utilise multi-touch functionality for Apple iPhone-esque pinch zooming.Using Google's Android operating system, the Bravo, like the previous HTC Hero, is believed to run the popular Sense UI.

Responsible for the leaked spy shot is mobile phone price comparison site, Omio, who state: “Whilst Bravo may not be the final name for the device, we can confirm that the handset will be equipped with the latest Android build, the same 3.7-inch display and 5 megapixel autofocus camera currently seen on the Nexus One, and be available for free on a £35 per month tariff.”

Striving for that elusive title of iPhone killer, the HTC Bravo is likely to get one step closer than the similar Nexus One which has received mixed reactions since its launch earlier this month.
