Contacts Fix / Update +91 Issue Resolved

Contacts Fix / Update +91 Issue Resolved

I am facing caller ID issues while working on Sony Xperia  Custom ROMs, To resolve this I tried Gravity Box with Xposed installer but rather than fixing my issue it messed up my contacts…

Then while googling I found these Two very handy applications to fix such issue.. Here’s my take on them…

1) Number Fixer

Description:

Number Fixer goes through your contacts and adds/removes prefixes to phone numbers. This is especially useful for Flex Dialer + Google Voice and calling cards that require the area code or country code.

If you find this useful, please support development by buying Number Fixer Donation.

v1.3 – ‘+’ fix, 13 digits for add

This tool is OK but doesn’t necessarily do what we want to achieve here. The process bit confusing and may mess up things…

2) Contact Updater Utility

As the name suggests, Contact Updater is an app that updates your contacts.
The concept and usage scenario is typically found but not available in other applications.
We all add/edit contacts to our phonebook on daily/weekly basis. However, there are chances that you forget to append a country code to the number. Ex – AABBCCDDEEFF
What this potentially means is that you will have to edit that number if you’re outside your home network and append it with a country specific code.

This is where Contact Updater comes handy.
It will search those numbers and append the selected country code.
Hence, you can internationalize your contacts to ensure no last minute changes are required every time.

Usage Scenario Example:
1. You live in India and have a mobile number registered in India.
2. Now, you travel to a foreign country; say “Thailand”.
3. From Thailand, you want to call to number i.e. AABBCCDDEEFF in India.
4. This call will fail.
5. In order to make this call, you need append a country code (+91 in this case) to make a call.

I am very impressed with this application it fixed all the numbers including land-line numbers (Indian numbers, I have not tested any other numbers)

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
