Bill Gates has all the money he could own because of the successful empire he has built behind Microsoft. He has enough money to own any gadget for his family and himself. But not too surprisingly, Apple products are banned in Bill Gates’ house.
This ban is not any statement set by Bill Gates in his home. In an interview given to New York Times, Melinda Gates made it clear beyond doubt that she herself does not allow Apple hardware in the house. If her kids demand for an iPod, they will have to settle with a Zune instead.
Here are a selected set of questions that Melinda was asked, along with her on the spot answers:
Do you own an iPod, which is made by Apple?
No, I have a Zune. What if one of your children says, “Mom, I have to have an iPod?”
I have gotten that argument — “You may have a Zune.”Do you have an iPad?
Of course not.Is it true that Bill works on an Apple laptop?
False. Nothing crosses the threshold of our doorstep.Isn’t there room in this world for both Apple and Microsoft?
Microsoft certainly makes products for the Macintosh. Go talk to Bill.
Being family with the man who hates to share the market with Apple (atleast gadgets market), this should be quite an obvious statement for Gates’ wife and children. But she has also admitted that one of her kids asked for an iPod. Too surprising?
