Xiaomi Xiaoyi M1

The new mirrorless camera uses a Sony-made 20-megapixel image sensor (IMX269). This is a Micro Four Thirds sensor and hence puts the M1 in the league of Sony’s own NEX series cameras. In simple words, at least on paper, the M1 camera promises image quality that will be significantly better than what the compact cameras can provide even though its price — Yuan 2199 in China — is similar to that of the small cameras. This price, which in Indian Rupees converts to around Rs 22,000, is for the M1 with one lens. In dual-lens kit, the cameras costs Yuan 2,999.

The camera offers shutter speeds from 1/4000 to 60. Xiaoyi’s snapper offers plenty of scene modes such as Portrait, landscape, Sports, Night, Candlelight, Sunset, Fireworks, Beach and Snow. It can record 4K 3840×2160 videos at 30 fps. When set to Full HD quality, the M1 can capture videos at 60 frames per second. The camera comes with SD/SDHC/SDXC card support. Coming to the subject of connectivity, you get Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro HDMI, and Micro USB. That should take care of the sharing aspect of photography. The M1 camera comes with a 3-inch touchscreen with pixel dimensions of 720×480.
