It seems that barely a day goes by without a big name app arriving on Windows Phone 7. Yesterday Amazon Kindle finally turned up on the Marketplace and now a native Flickr app has also been announced.
The new native photo sharing app from Yahoo boasts a what looks like massively slick interface, a little smoother than the one available for iOS devices. You can see it in action in the video below.
The app, which will also be available for Windows 7 tablets, will allow users to sync their account with other devices, easily view your friends recent activity, as well as the feedback from your own photos.
Flickr for Windows Phone 7 and Windows 7 tablets and PCs will store photos using Microsoft’s cloud-based Azure servers, which is strange considering the resources already available to Yahoo. Flickr says that using Azure helped them to get the app finished quickly.
In saying that, the software still wont be available to download until the end of this month. Once that’s done, any chance Flickr could get on with building an official app for Android? HTC Sense does a decent job of syncing with your account but beyond that it’s something the platform is badly lacking.
