With the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show about to wind down, I thought now would be a good time to take a look at some of the major announcements Microsoft made in Las Vegas as well as a few other stories that might have gotten missed during all the hub-bub.
CES wrap up. Just in case you missed any of the big news Microsoft made at the show, check out this feature story wrap up and this slideshow (which also features video) on the Microsoft News Center. The feature story summarizes Microsoft’s announcements around new Windows devices, Surface and Xbox 360 and has a slideshow of images from all over CES. Mashable also wrote a great piece touching upon Windows 7-powered tablets.
Windows Phone 7. Windows Phone 7 made big news at CES with the announcement that a Kindle app is now available for all the book lovers out there. Check out this post on the Windows Phone Blog to read more about it. And just today it was announced that a Flickr app will soon be available for Windows Phone 7 – see Microsoft Storyteller Steve Clayton’s post about it on the Next at Microsoft Blog.
Bing and those Seattle Seahawks. Need tickets to the upcoming playoff matchup at Qwest Field between the Hawks and the New Orleans Saints? Bing might be able to help through a newly announced partnership with FanSnap. Check out this story in TechFlash and a post on the Bing Search blog to find out more about it. And go Seahawks!
That’s it for this week’s edition of Weekend Reading. See you next Friday!
