Much to everybody’s surprise, the long awaited Verizon iPhone may not be doing better than everyone thinks. According to BGR.com, the Verizon iPhone is only beating AT&T in terms of sales by less than was expected.
Below are unit sales totals from five Apple stores combined (including two very, very prominent Apple stores) showing both Verizon and AT&T iPhone 4 sales during the Verizon iPhone’s first five days of availability:
– Thursday: Verizon = 909, AT&T = 539
– Friday: Verizon = 916, AT&T = 680
– Saturday: Verizon = 660, AT&T = 471
– Sunday: Verizon = 796, AT&T = 701
– Monday: Verizon = 711, AT&T = 618
Now, though these numbers aren’t bad, this shows that the popularity of the Verizon iPhone is decreasing and therefore may be fair game between AT&T and Verizon again.
What with two carriers now carrying the iPhone, Apple is raking it in, undoubtedly, the choice between carriers is of no matter to them and either way, they still earn money.
Though more than half a million Verizon iPhones were pre-ordered, demand is already settling down and, obviously, ad campaigns will continue strong; Apple raking in the money while two telecommunications giants tear each others apart.
