Sound loss after installing new Logitech wireless keyboard and mou

I have windows xp media center and just installed a new logitech wireless
keyboard and mouse and now I have no sound. The speaker light is on, my
device manager says there are no conflicts and still no sound. I have a
friend with the same operating system who just installed a new microsoft
wireless keyboard and mouse and he is having the same problem. Any ideas?
