Sony’s VAIO S is on the receiving end of an unusual upgrade. Not content with a new chipset or two, Sony has announced that the ultraportable PC will now be user-customisable.
You can choose to add a Blu-ray writable drive, a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 310 graphics card, up to a 256GB solid state drive, and up to 8GB of RAM.
It’s also possible to grab a VAIO S with a free upgrade to a relatively chunky Core i5-480M processor if you opt for Windows 7 Professional.
Prices for a made-to-order VAIO S start at a US-centric $874.99…
