Sony Ericsson has launched its next Symbian-based smartphone, the Vivaz, capable of shooting 720p HD video.
The Vivaz, sequel to the Satio, is Sony Ericsson’s first product release of the new decade and is set to boast an 8.1-megapixel camera alongside the impressive video capabilities.
It will run Sony Ericsson’s Symbian OS as opposed to the Xperia X10 model which utilises Google’s Android software.

With 720p HD video recording and continuous autofocus to keep images crisp and clear, users will be able to catch all their spontaneous YouTube and You’ve Been Framed-worthy video highlights in top-quality high definition.
To ensure that you can share these HD highlights with your buddies, the folks at Sony have included a 3.2-inch HD widescreen display and the option of uploading videos from the handset to YouTube via Wi-Fi or High-Speed Packet Access.
Along with all the regular smartphone aspects, the sleek, curvaceous design of Sony Ericsson’s Vivaz also plays host to A-GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, an 8GB microSD card, and, for the snap-happy amongst you, face and smile detection, image stabilisation and geo tagging..
Bookmarked for release sometime within the first quarter of the year, Sony Ericsson is currently keeping tight-lipped about the handset’s price.
