We all have a wide variety of applications running on our computer for different purposes. Keeping them up to date all the time could be a very difficult task to most of us. It’s just plain too difficult to keep up. Some of the applications have the update-check built into so it will notify us if there is any new updates available but majority of others just don’t.
That’s why I found siClient program from Software Informer quite handy and useful. It’s a client program developed by Software Informer to pair with their rapidly growing software library on the Internet.
The program can be downloaded from Software Informer home page for free. Once you install it, you can set it up so it can be launched at Windows startup.
The very first launch can take a bit of time to finish as it needs to scan all programs you have installed on your computer, and compare them to the version on Software Informer to see whether they need update or not.
Once it’s finished, it will list all programs you have installed with the programs that need to be updated highlighted in red under your software tab. It also creates a guest account on the website for you with a page that includes detail info about the update-needed-program, including the download link.
You can also get the same detail product info from Notifications tab.
As a bonus, it also has a Giveaway of the day tab that apparently is associated with the popular giveawayoftheday.com website. You may find some good deals there if you use the software more often. See, I got an offer of this Youtube Music Downloader for free.
siClient is now on version 1.0505b., and only works on windows platform at the moment, from 9x all the way to Windows 7. The download file is 709kb big but will occupy 10m of your memory when it runs.
