Hi there all, our current library system stores ourr Windows Media Video
(WMV) files upon a streaming server and have restricted access to them via
Windows security permissions – limiting access to valid domain accounts. Each
video file is linked from the library catalogue to the streaming server via
its own URL.

Windows users click the link, a username/password prompt pops up and upon
succesful authentication, the media player pops up.
The problem we have is that Mac users are unable to use the system, the Macs
do not prompt for the credentials leaving their media playing software to
interpret the URL as invalid.
Has anyone come across this before?
We’re talking thousands of files here and its a university library so
copyright issues force us to keep the files secure.
