Revision3 Presents…Frightened Rabbit

Anyone who knows me knows that I love music. A lot. Music and new band discovery is a passion of mine and has been since I learned to hear. I’m also very aware that many of you, the Revision3 viewers, love music too and want to be exposed to new music. So, how can we help you out with that? Well we’re launching a special show today, the first live concert we’ve ever shot. The band is Scotland’s Frightened Rabbit and they’re one of my favorite bands, as well as the nicest guys you’re likely to meet. We hadn’t done a live concert shoot here at Revision3 (besides the crazy live Diggnation shoots, of course) but I have loved the band’s music for years. When the opportunity came up to shoot their acoustic set at San Francisco’s tiny Rickshaw Stop, we had to jump at it.

Everyone who worked on this shoot was doing it on a voluntary basis, giving up their evening to shoot the show. Josh Villegas, Graham Hancock, Michael Baca and Mauricio Balvanera brought their creative visual talents to the gig and we shot it all on digital SLRs and HDV cams. Mauricio directed and edited the shoot. We really wanted to achieve the feeling of being “at” the show. We wanted you, the audience, to get that feeling of being in a small venue with a band that’s on the rise, capturing that moment in time. I hope we accomplished that!

The next night, Frightened Rabbit played the sold out Fillmore here in SF (one of the best shows I’ve ever seen there) and have gone on to rock the Glastonbury and Lollapalooza festivals this summer.

I hope you’ll enjoy this show, give us your feedback (we love that), AND if this band is coming to your town, go see them live. Tweet about it, tell your friends, spread it around. Help us spread the word about this band and together let’s get some more great music out into the world!

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
