Real Racing 2 offers 16-player support for iPhone, iPod Touch

Real Racing 2 will offer a 16-player online racing feature with 30 real-world cars when it goes on sale on 16 December for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.

According to the developer, Firemint, up to 16 players can play the game together online via wi-fi to complete. No other iOS game till now offers a 16-player limit for online play. Local playing can support up to 8 players.

Firemint has also confirmed that damage modelling - accurate representations of banged up cars - will be included, something which not many portable racing games see. Thirty cars we see in the real world can be found on this game, including a range from brands such as BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Jaguar, Lotus, McLaren, Nissan, Volkswagen and Volvo.

With over 10 hours of gameplay and a range of events spread over 5 tiers, gamers can earn in-game currency in order to trade cars and buy upgrades. In addition, with 5 camera angles and a 3D cockpit view, Real Racing will be supported on all iPhones and iPod Touch devices running iOS 3.1 and newer.

Real Racing 2 can be with iPhone and iPod Touch owners on 16 December for £5.99.
