PlayStation Move precise enough to play StarCraft

Sony has claimed that it’s new motion controller for the PlayStation, the Move, is accurate enough to play RTS games such as StarCraft.

RTS games usually require the precision of a mouse to control hundreds of units on a battlefield, however, Sony software engineer Anton Mikhailov says that he’s been playing StarCraft using their new remote.

Speaking at the Game Developers Conference, he said: “We're excited about genres that have been typically detached from console, like RTS. All those genres require precise pointer control. This is something we have now on the PS3.”

If this really is the case, then several genres of games that have previously not been suited for the console format could make their way over to the PlayStation 3.
