Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus on the way

Palm has announced it is upgrading its smartphone range with new additions to be known as the Palm Pre Plus and the Palm Pixi Plus.

The Palm Pre has barely been out a few months in the UK, so owners will have mixed emotions. On the one hand they will be relieved that there is only a small cosmetic change, with the tiny navigation button on the front disappearing.

However, they won’t be happy to hear that the on-board memory has been doubled to 16GB and that Palm is now throwing in a conductor for the Touchstone wireless charger with every purchase. Alas the much craved memory expansion slot remains missing in action – when will they learn?

The Palm Pixi which has yet to be released in the UK, has been upgraded to now include WiFi – good news for UK customers when it eventually makes an appearance.

Palm also announced 3D gaming for its webOS platform – EA Mobile and Gameloft are preparing to release mobile games in the Palm app store.
