Microsoft’s Xbox Live gaming service could soon feature on Windows Mobile after series of job adverts posted before Christmas suggested that the company plans to move into the mobile gaming arena.
The roles actively being recruited for are a software test engineer, a senior software test engineer, and a Principal Program Manager who would be responsible for bringing "Xbox Live enabled games to Windows Mobile."

A move into mobile gaming would support Bill Gates’s vision of ‘Live Anywhere’ which was first outlined back at E3 in 2006. Gates’ aim was to seamlessly bring together gaming on mobile, PC and console platforms.
With Apple having shown the way with gaming on its iPhone and iPod Touch devices, and the popularity of the Nintendo DSi and Sony PSP, integrating a gaming platform into its Windows Mobile devices appears a wise move by Microsoft.
In other WinMo-related news, Microsoft also announced for the first time that Windows Mobile 6.5.3 will launch in the near future. The OS update which should add better touch functionality, is likely to be officially unveiled at CES which kicks off in Las Vegas later this month.
