Gyrotate is a match and eliminate style puzzle game. The objective is to move the shapes into a position where 4 or more of them line up in a row. The game has quotas to meet and a time limit to beat. I had some fun with this game and happily shared it with my family.
This simple concept game is not as easy as it looks. I was fooled into thinking that it was easy with the first few levels but then it became more difficult as time went on. The game has power-ups that will give you extra time(believe me, you’ll need it) and other things as the game progresses into harder levels. At first you may think that Gyrotate is very easy but your opinion is sure to change quickly with the rapid change in difficulty. I was also very fond of the unique style of background. It looks like a chalk board and it has good graphics to go along with the cool design.
I don’t have to many negative comment about this game other than that I had a hard time getting my fingers to control the game. Most likely, it has to do with the already small screen and my chubby fingers. In any case it proved to be a difficult thing to get use to. I also could not see myself returning to this game over and over for entertainment in the future. I had fun for a while and then put it down. It lacks a certain addictive quality that keeps a user coming back for more.
– Not as simple as it seems
– Goes from easy to difficult quickly
– Has unique design
– A little hard to navigate the controls
– Not super interesting in the long run
Gyrotate got my attention quick and had me frustrated and having fun in no time. This game is very simple, yet it takes a strategy to get very far.
I give this app an 8/10 because of the challenging game play and unique look.
