Good news for would-be iPhone and iPad developers today as AppFund, a capital investment firm based in New York City, officially launches and brings with it promise for developers in need of support financially. The firm was launched by Kevin Wendle, co-founder of E! Online and CNET, and partner Daniel Klaus.

The AppFund website describes the firms goals, “AppFund is a seed fund focused on the development of Applications for Tablet devices such as the Apple iPad. We are looking for Apps that capitalize on the dynamic and mobile nature of the iPad and similar Tablet devices.”

We believe that the iPad is a transformative device that is going to have wide ranging uses and applications in enterprise environments, entertainment, content, social networking, games and small business.

Support for developers could range anywhere from $5,000 to $500,000 and the firm is currently accepting written email submissions for iPhone and iPad apps here- submissions@appfund.net

There has also been word that the AppFund is also considering other tablet and mobile device applications, which may mean new opportunities for aspiring JooJoo and Amazon Kindle developers. With plans of launching new apps by the summer, don’t wait to get your submissions in.
