HTC Desire HD and Desire Z suffer delays

The two latest incarnations of the iPhone-bothering HTC Desire - the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Desire Z - have been delayed in the UK by another two weeks.

Vodafone had been promising to start shipping pre-ordered HTC Desire handsets on the 15th of October, although now that date has been pushed back to some unspecified date at the end of the month, while Amazon is playing safe with a November 1st release date for the Desire Z and a 15th Novemeber date for the Desire HD.

The delay has apparently been caused by extended quality testing by Google (which makes the Desires' Android operating systems).

Thinking of picking up one of the new Desires? Read our hands-on reviews of the HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z first.
