Firefox 3.6 beta 1 is already out & available for download. Though not many new features but you can expect bug fixes and more stability. There are two different ways of installing Firefox 3.6 Namoroka on Ubuntu 8.10, 9.04. Both the methods are easy to follow for novice users.
How to Download & Install Firefox 3.6 on Ubuntu
Method 1: Installing via repository
1. Go to System -> Administrator -> Software Sources
2. Now Click on Third Party Software Tab and add below repository
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/fta/ubuntu intrepid main
3. Now go to Applications > Accessories > Terminal and type below command
Sudo apt-get install firefox-3.6
Once you have completed installation to start Firefox 3.6 go to Applications > Internet > Minefield 3.6 Web Browser.
Method 2: Installing using wget
Below one line command can install Firefox 3.6 on your Ubuntu
wget – o – http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6b1/linux-i686/en-US/firefox-3.6b1.tar.bz2 | tar xj -C ~
