How To Install CyanogenMod 7 On Your Android Device

Moving from your current ROM to CyanogenMod 7 is pretty easy. While I’m using a Nexus One (also called HTC Passion), these general steps should work for most Android-based devices. Prerequisites! First you will need a custom recovery image on your phone, such as ClockworkMod or AmonRa. I use AmonRa, which is documented and available from here: forum.xda-developers.com Next you will need the ZIP files of CyanogenMod 7 and Google Apps for your device somewhere on your phone’s SD card, available here: www.cyanogenmod.com Before flashing any file, you should verify its MD5 signature against the one provided to make sure you’re not flashing a corrupt file. Please note that while it is next to impossible to irreparably “brick” your phone by following these steps, I am not responsible for any problems you may experience. I am not associated with CM7.
