Gran Turismo 5 release date "about to be announced"

Polyphony Digital CEO and mastermind of the much loved Gran Turismo franchise, Kazunori Yamauchi, has announced that the release date for the heavily delayed GT5 title is “about to be announced”.

Tweeting the remarks on the upcoming Gran Turismo title that has been five years and $60 million in the making, Yamauchi declared: "It looks like the release date is about to be announced” before apologising to gaming fans of the latest postponement that saw GT5 pushed back from its formerly official November 2nd arrival.

"It's because time and labor were spent ironing the kinks out of [the game's] complex system. I'm really sorry. Everyone, it's inexcusable... Wait a little longer." said the Polyphony head.

Yamauchi’s comments come as new reports suggest that retail production copies of the long awaited, graphically impressive, 3D capable game are already sitting in US stores awaiting a consumer available release date.
