An impressive milestone for the human race was reached over the weekend when an
astronaut posted the first genuine tweet on Twitter from space.

Flight Engineer T.J. Creamer posted the message "Hello Twitterverse! We r now LIVE tweeting from the International Space Station — the 1st live tweet from Space! 🙂 More soon, send your ?s".
Although a previous astronaut Tweeted from the space shuttle Atlantis last May, the message was sent via Mission Control, rather than direct to Twitter.
The breakthrough for society follows the introduction of an internet connection on the International Space Station by NASA.
