Apple iMac users in the UK, who have been blighted with screen problems on the 27-inch model, have reportedly been offered a full refund, plus a £200 cash bonus to keep them sweet.
The faulty screen saga, which has been rumbling on for weeks now causing Apple to half production on the model, has seen iMac owners experience flickering and a strange yellow tint on their LCD screens, although the former has been fixed by a recent firmware update.
However, Apple is so short of the LCD panels needed to repair the screens (there are 230 people waiting for the part in Europe), it is simply offering a full refund, free pick up of the machine and another 15 per cent of the price cash-in-hand.
The model has been beset with problems with the OS failing to boot in some cases, along with reports of cracked cases. The model is still listed for sale on the Apple Store, with an expected shipping date of three weeks.
